Important Post Hurricane Milton Update As of Saturday, Lake County has been included in Federal Declaration DR-4834.
The Citizens Information Line (CIL) continues to operate today from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and will continue to do so until further notice at 352-253-9999.
Vegetation/Yard Debris pickup has started today (10/14/2024). Any resident or business that has cut tree branches, limbs, logs, leaves, palms, or other yard debris needs to put their debris out by the road and haulers will start to clear the debris out. Vegetative debris needs to be kept separate from other categories of debris to prevent material contamination. The hauler will come through the city twice as to give those who were unable to get their yard debris out this weekend a second chance for the city to pickup. We are expecting the second round of pickup will begin as early as next week.
The city is working with waste haulers to get rid of other types of debris residents may have from the storm and will provide additional information once arrangements have been finalized with the waste hauler.
City Offices City offices are back up and running. Due to the storm the utilities department will not be imposing late fees until October 21, 2024, and shutoffs will not occur until 7:00 AM on October 22, 2024. Shelters Shelters have been closed. If you are in need or resources, please contact the citizen hotline at 352-253-9999.
There are still a few areas in the city with excessive water and yard debris. We ask residents to be patient as we continue to move forward with cleanup efforts.
