[ARCHIVED] Post Milton Updates

storm update

Post Hurricane Milton Update - 10/10/2024 9:00 A.M.

The Mascotte PD has been out since 3:00 AM working to remove trees off the roadways. They have also been doing assessments of the local area. Along with the PD, public works and the Lake County Fire Department are also out assessing the damage and working to coordinate cleanup.
The majority of the roads are open, but staff is still assessing areas so we ask residents to please stay off the roads unless you need to be out so that utility crews and staff can assess the damage and start work to cleanup and get power restored
The City is without power and again utility crews will be working to get power restored as soon as possible.  At this time we do not know when that will be.
We have been notified that there are two power lines down, several trees down, and several areas that are experiencing flooding or under water; those areas include Palmetto, the Comunicasa subdivision, Anderson Rd., the city's ballfield and Park Rd. which leads to the ballfield.
As the day goes on conditions will continue to improve however, the St. Johns River and anyone along the St. Johns River will continue to experience flooding/potential flooding throughout the week to come.
