Growing up, I lived in many different locations as my father spent 12 years in the Marines and another 5 working for the Department of Defense. When I graduated high school, I followed in his footsteps and spent 12 years in the Marines moving around quite frequently. I always wanted to find my forever home and allow my children to grow up with friends they make early on. I went to high school in Key West and left from there for my time in the service. In 2016 I moved back to Florida and became a teacher in Lake County. I knew the minute I arrived that I wanted to grow old here in Central Florida. I found a home here in Mascotte that I fell in love with. The small town feel was exactly what I’d been searching for. Through my 12 years in the Marines, my time as a teacher, and now my position in Public Health at the Florida Department of Health I have always enjoyed working in service of others. Being the Mayor is just one more way for me to continue that service as I can now be a voice for so many and never just my own.
